In 1996 Ikatu began developing solutions in the area of information technologies, and started selling services based on Linux servers for small and medium range companies. In 2000, Ikatu developed Decorar 1), an e-commerce platform that runs web sites such as the e-commerce of the exclusive furniture outlet Vivai.

The IT know-how acquired during those years, was one of the key elements that allowed Ikatu to successfully complete its consulting contracts in the field of new technologies for residential buildings.

In 2007, Ikatu’s continuous advance in research and development of Linux and open source solutions, made Jimmy Baikovicius (CEO of Ikatu) and Pablo Hoffman (IT Manager of Ikatu) take the business one step further and launch Insophia, a company, with offices in Zonamerica, that specializes in:

Linux and Unix system administration
Computer networking solutions
Internet protocols and technologies
Web application design, implementation and deployment
Open source software solutions and consultancy

We are also committed to bringing useful web 2.0 services like Privnote, a tool that allows anyone to send private information online, with peace of mind.

1) Presently, a group of programmers at Ikatu is working on a new platform for Decorar, whose project codename Kat, is based on state of the art technologies.
